Access Network Efficiency - Utility/Energy Manager

The “Access Network Efficiency” working group is looking for participation from individuals within the MSO community that are passionate about energy efficiency in relation to your organization's access network. The desired individuals will have direct authority in managing your organization's energy bill as it relates to the access network. You will be expected to manage your MSOs participation within the working group, ensuring your organization maintains an appropriate level of contribution to the working group.

Key Attributes:
-Access Network experience
-Responsible for reducing/managing an MSOs access network energy bill
-Passionate about energy management
-Interested in knowledge sharing and working together with MSOs and vendors from across the industry

 

Access Network Efficiency - Engineer

The “Access Network Efficiency” working group is looking for participation from individuals within the MSO community that are passionate about energy efficiency in relation to your organization's access network. The desired individuals should be involved in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of energy reduction ideas concerning MSO access networks. You will be expected to be an active participant, regularly attending and contributing to working group meetings and products.

Key Attributes:
-Access Network experience
-Responsibility regarding access network energy reduction actions within their MSO
-Passionate about energy management
-Interested in knowledge sharing and working together with MSOs and vendors from across the industry

 

Access Network Efficiency - Production Standards Manager

The “Access Network Efficiency” working group is looking for participation from individuals within the vendor communitythat are passionate about energy efficiency as it impacts your organizations access network related product line. The desired individuals will have direct responsibility in ensuring your organization's product line meets MSO/SCTE standards as they relate to energy requirements. You will be expected to manage your vendor's participation within the working group, ensuring your organization maintains an appropriate level of contribution to the working group.

Access Network Efficiency - Engineer

The “Access Network Efficiency” working group is looking for participation from individuals within the vendor communitythat manufacture the vendor equipment for the access network. These engineers must understand the legacy equipment that is deployed and must understand the design constraints and roadmaps of new equipment. You will be expected to be an active participant, regularly attending and contributing to working group meetings and products.

-Interested in knowledge sharing and working together with MSOs and vendors from across the industry

 

Facility Climate Technology – Facility HVAC Manager

The “Facility Climate Technology Optimization” working group is looking for participation from individuals from the MSO/Vendor community that are passionate about energy efficiency in relation to data center operations and design. The primary discipline that the “Facility Climate Technology Optimization” group is focused on is mechanical. If you are passionate about increasing the mechanical energy efficiency of data centers then the “Facility Climate Technology Optimization” working group needs your participation. Your input will further drive standards associated with operations and design throughout the data center community.

Key Attributes:
-HVAC experience
-Background in energy efficiency efforts, particularly within data centers
-Passionate about energy management
-Interested in knowledge sharing and working together with MSOs and vendors from across the industry


Metrics - Cable Operator Energy Manager

The "Energy Metrics" Working Group is looking for volunteers from cable operators that are in roles similar to an "Energy Manager." The ideal candidates are involved in monitoring their organization's energy usage and developing/implementing practices and procedures designed to reduce energy consumption and/or improve efficiency of usage.

-Decision-maker in a Cable Operator's Energy Management chain


Metrics - Cable Operator Facilities Director

The "Energy Metrics" Working Group is looking for volunteers from Facilities Directors from within cable operators. The ideal candidates are directly responsible for their organization's facilities department and implementing energy management initiatives within those facilities. If you are passionate about energy and would like to interact with similarly minded individuals from within the cable industry, the Metrics team would greatly appreciate your participation.

-Responsible for a cable operators facilities

 

Metrics - Energy Measurement Technology Partner Provider

The "Energy Metrics" Working Group is looking for participation from energy measurement technology partners. As the metrics group is involved in establishing and collecting energy data for the Energy 2020 Program, volunteers from energy measurement companies will help shape critical aspects of the Program. Measurement and collection of energy data remains a difficult task and if you are interested in assisting the industry in this area, please volunteer for the Metrics team.

Metrics - Technology Provider Engineer & Energy Consultants

The "Energy Metrics" Working Group is looking for new volunteers from the vendor community. This group's goal is to develop standards and operational practices to define measurements for energy consumed in critical facilities and outside plant to assist cable system operators in measuring the effectiveness of energy management. If you are an engineer with a technology provider or an energy consultant and would like play an active role in contributing to the Energy 2020 metrics, data collection, and reporting, the Metrics Working Group would greatly welcome your participation.

Alternative Energy - Various Needs

The "Alternative Energy" Working Group is looking for a wide range of people experienced in the alternative energy field. This group has the potential to influence energy decisions across multiple cable operators as well as impact the future energy trends within the cable industry. Because of the large number of possibilities that fall within alternative energy projects, we are looking for those with expertise in all relevant areas.

People involved in the following fields would be essential members of the Working Group:
-Financing energy projects and proposals
-Incentives and tax credits
-Electrical distribution systems
-Geothermal systems
-Battery storage systems
-Micro-grid systems

Additionally, the following experience would be desired:
-Evaluating projects and identify manufacturer equipment options
-Purchasing solar, wind, electricity, and natural gas in deregulated states
-Managing enterprise-wide energy portfolios to include alternative and traditional energy solutions
-Evaluating solar and fuel cell projects and the impact of deploying these solutions


Energy in Operations - Non-Technical SMEs

The "Energy in Operations" Working Group is looking for a wide range of experienced volunteers to assist the group in its mission of establishing, improving and maintaining a culture of energy management within cable operations. With the non-technical focus of this group, we are looking for experienced people across all organizational divisions. Those interested in energy management and participating in the development of strategies and documents that will influence energy management culture across the cable industry, would be a tremendous asset to this group.
